Brother's Final Plea Ignored: Teenager Killed in Bolton Crash After 122mph Video
Brother's final plea ignored before fatal Bolton crash

The devastated older brother of a teenage driver killed in a horrific head-on collision has revealed he begged him to 'be smarter' behind the wheel in their final conversation. The crash in Bolton, Greater Manchester, claimed the lives of four people in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Tragic Final Warning

Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, known as Jibril, was understood to be driving his modified Seat Leon when it collided with a Citroen Picasso taxi just after 12.45am. He died alongside his school friends, Mohammed Danyaal Asghar Ali, 19, and Farhan Patel, 18. The taxi driver, father-of-four Masrob Ali, 54, was also killed.

Jibril's brother, Miraj, 21, later shared poignant screenshots of their last WhatsApp exchange on TikTok. In the messages, Miraj warned of the catastrophic consequences of high-speed driving. '180 mph one mistake tyre blows or car comes in front. Dead & in pieces. Be smarter,' he wrote. In a caption, Miraj added: 'My last messages to him - Damn I wish he just listened. But he was only 18.'

History of Dangerous Driving and Community Grief

A family friend disclosed that Jibril 'liked to drive at crazy speeds' and had been involved in another accident in Bolton roughly a month prior, where he flipped his car. Jibril, who worked as a mechanic at his brother's Narkos High Performance Tuning garage, frequently showcased his heavily modified vehicle on social media.

The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief. Friends of Danyaal launched a fundraising page in his memory, stating the loss was 'deeply painful'. Tributes also flooded in for the three teens, all former students of Ladybridge High School.

Meanwhile, police confirmed they are examining video footage, believed to have been uploaded by one of the teenagers, which appears to show the same car speeding through a built-up area at 122mph at 3am on Saturday – less than 24 hours before the fatal smash. A family friend branded the clip 'stupid' and 'crazy'.

Ongoing Investigation and Calls for Road Safety

Five passengers from both vehicles remain in hospital. A 29-year-old woman in the Citroen suffered potentially life-threatening injuries. Two others in the taxi were seriously hurt, while two passengers, one in each vehicle, sustained minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Andrew Page of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged the public not to share footage of the crash on social media, warning it could constitute a criminal offence and cause further distress to the families. He appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Residents living near the crash site on Wigan Road expressed anger, saying they have begged for safety measures for years, reporting collisions 'every couple of months'. They cited an incident just before Christmas where a car hit a wall near a primary school, just hundreds of yards from Sunday's tragedy. Locals claim they have been told previous non-injury incidents did not justify traffic calming measures or speed cameras.

The daughter of taxi driver Masrob Ali, Humayra Ali, 29, described her father as 'the kindest man' and a safe driver, taking comfort that the tragedy did not appear to be his fault.
