The heartbroken family of a young woman described as "amazing, kind and beautiful" have paid an emotional tribute following her tragic death in a Christmas Eve motorway crash.
Last-Minute Shopping Trip Ends in Tragedy
Saskia Weatherley, a 29-year-old fashion design graduate, was returning to her family home after completing last-minute Christmas shopping when the fatal collision occurred. The incident took place on the M2 motorway near Gillingham in Kent at approximately 12.50pm on December 24, 2025.
According to initial reports, Saskia's Volkswagen T-Roc vehicle overturned after striking the central reservation. Police have confirmed the crash involved only her vehicle, with no other cars directly impacted, though investigators continue to examine all circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
Family's Unbearable Grief
In a deeply moving Facebook post, Saskia's mother Julie Weatherley expressed the family's profound pain, describing her daughter as "amazing, kind and my everything." She wrote about the devastating void left by Saskia's sudden passing, stating that life now feels "unbearable" without her.
"Losing Saskia has torn a hole in my world," Julie Weatherley shared. "When someone you love, like a child, is so completely gone, the future is empty, worthless and cruel. I am in so much pain beyond any physical pain."
She continued with poignant reflection: "You don't simply lose a loved one, you lose everything you were and everything that your loved one was meant to be. I miss the little things most — the moments that seemed ordinary at the time but now mean everything."
A Promising Life Cut Short
Saskia, who held a diploma in fashion design from Ravensbourne University, was building an exciting future at the time of the tragedy. She had been developing a range of men's accessories crafted from carbon fibre and was in the process of establishing her own stable at the family property in Newnham, near Faversham.
Her father Richard Weatherley spoke to KentOnline about his daughter's potential, revealing: "She was just getting herself to a point where she was starting to see how her life might pan out." The family had spent part of Christmas Eve together before Saskia left for her shopping trip to Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.
Reflecting on those final moments, Richard expressed heartbreaking regret: "If I'd just given her a hug for five more seconds. And then just gone, wait, give her another hug."
Brother's Devastating Loss
Saskia's brother Max Weatherley described an exceptionally close sibling relationship, telling how he spent "every day of my life" with his sister and that they never argued. He conveyed the profound change her absence has created, stating simply: "This world isn't as good as it used to be because she's not in our lives every single day anymore."

While initial findings suggest no other vehicles were directly involved in the collision, Saskia's family have expressed their need for complete answers about the circumstances that led to her death. They remain uncertain about whether other drivers might have been indirectly involved in the incident.
