A heartbroken mother has described the unimaginable agony of watching her teenage daughter take her final breath following a devastating scrambler bike collision in Dublin. The tragedy unfolded on Sunday afternoon, claiming the life of 16-year-old Grace Lynch and leaving a family shattered.
Fatal Collision on Ratoath Road
At approximately 2.20pm on Sunday, 25th January 2026, emergency services were urgently dispatched to Ratoath Road in the Finglas area of Dublin. Reports indicated a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a scrambler motorcycle. Upon arrival, paramedics encountered a critical scene.
A scrambler bike, carrying an adult male and a teenage boy, had reportedly struck Grace Lynch as she was crossing the road. Despite immediate medical intervention at the roadside, the young girl sustained catastrophic injuries. She was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown but was tragically pronounced dead later that evening.

Grace's mother, Siobhan, has spoken publicly of her family's profound devastation. In an emotional tribute, she remembered her daughter as a beautiful, funny, and loving individual.
"We are devastated. I want justice," Siobhan stated. "She was 16. She was a beautiful girl - funny, a great daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, a friend. My baby girl."
She described the traumatic final moments, saying, "Watching my baby take her last breath was the most heartbreaking thing any parent should watch. We want justice for our Grace. She didn't need to die. She was crossing the road. I'm not going to let my baby die in vain. I need some sort of help to get these bikes off the road."
