Two men have been killed and a third has sustained life-changing injuries following a devastating two-vehicle crash on a major East Yorkshire road.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The serious incident occurred on the A614 near Holme-on-Spalding Moor at approximately 9.55pm on Sunday, 18 January 2026. According to Humberside Police, a blue Land Rover travelling northbound from Howden collided with a white Ford Transit van heading in the opposite direction near Holme Road, close to Chestnut Farm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the two occupants of the Land Rover, a 27-year-old man and a 55-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the van, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital with what are described as life-changing injuries.
Road Closure and Police Investigation
The A614 was closed overnight to allow for a thorough emergency response and investigation. The key route was reopened to traffic at around 8.45am on Monday, 19 January.
Officers from Humberside Police have now launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
