A tragic road traffic collision in Templepatrick, County Antrim, has resulted in the death of a woman and left a bus driver with serious injuries. The incident occurred on the Ballyrobin Road early on Saturday morning, involving a black Citroen C1 car and a double-decker bus.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 8:00am on Saturday, 14th February, following reports of a two-vehicle collision. Despite the swift attendance of police and other emergency partners, the driver of the Citroen, a woman, was pronounced deceased at the location. The driver of the bus, identified as a man in his sixties, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities have indicated that his condition, while severe, is not believed to be life-threatening.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that the Ballyrobin Road remains closed as of Saturday evening to facilitate a thorough investigation. Detective Inspector Stewart from the Collision Investigation Unit is leading the enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
In a statement, DI Stewart emphasised the ongoing nature of the investigation: "Our enquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 341 14/02/26."
