Former Emmerdale actress Daisy Campbell was subjected to a terrifying real-life stalking campaign, in an eerie echo of a storyline her character once faced on the popular ITV soap.
A Real-Life Nightmare Unfolds
The ordeal began when Lyle Cook, 39, from Telford, Shropshire, located Daisy's home address using Google Maps. Between January 2024 and February 2025, he bombarded the actress with a stream of unwanted packages sent directly to her door.
These deliveries included envelopes stuffed with cash, a series of love letters, and an array of other gifts. The persistent and unwanted attention left Campbell, who played Amelia Spencer on the show, deeply concerned and fearful. She subsequently reported the incidents to the police.
Court Case and Protective Order
Cook's fixation escalated when he attempted to arrange a face-to-face meeting with the star. This led to him being made the subject of a stalking protection order. In September 2025, Cook admitted to stalking at Telford Magistrates' Court.
He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £161 fine. Crucially, the court also issued a five-year restraining order, banning him from contacting Daisy Campbell "directly or indirectly" under any circumstances.
A source close to the actress told The Sun: "This was very concerning for Daisy, and she was concerned by having someone fixated on her. She did the right thing by reporting it... There is a lot of relief that this matter was taken to court."
Life After the Dales
Daisy Campbell left Emmerdale at the end of 2024 after producers concluded storylines for her character. She first joined the cast as a child of just seven years old in 2011, meaning she spent most of her childhood on the show.
The actress has since opened a pilates studio in Pontefract, Yorkshire. She revealed that her departure from the soap was not her decision and described it as an abrupt shock that left her career in a sudden downturn.
"It wasn't my choice to leave Emmerdale, and it was a shock at first," Daisy told The Mirror. "Being in Emmerdale is all I have ever known. I've spent the whole of my childhood growing up in the soap, and it felt daunting."
In a poignant twist, her character, Amelia Spencer, was written out of the show when she decided to move to Leicester. This followed a plotline where Amelia was herself the victim of a menacing stalker—her manipulative boyfriend Tom King.
