Coronation Street actor Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker on the soap, has stunned fans with his dramatic weight loss transformation. The 21-year-old shared a sweaty post-run photo on Instagram on Friday, showcasing his new lean physique.
Smith revealed that his weight loss journey began after a severe bout of food poisoning from a dodgy prawn while on holiday in Thailand last year, which caused him to shed one and a half stone. He spoke about the incident on his podcast Sofa Cinema Club, saying he was only able to eat a banana and three slices of toast for a week afterwards.
Since then, the star has overhauled his fitness regime, sharing numerous workout posts on social media. In one caption, he wrote: 'Bank Holiday run done. Feet up & some family time while staying at home now! Have a good un folks.' He also asked fans for isolation workout inspiration, encouraging them to share their positive goals during the lockdown.
Fans flooded the comments with praise, with one telling Smith he was 'giving Adele a run for her money' after the singer recently revealed her own seven-stone weight loss. Others wrote: 'looking super fit', 'looking great!', and 'you look amazing, all the hard work is paying off'.
Smith joined Coronation Street in 2011 at the age of 12, playing the son of Beth Tinker, portrayed by Lisa George. His character Craig has been involved in several storylines, including a romance with Kayla, played by Mollie Winward.
