Three men have been arrested following a suspected crossbow attack in Edinburgh that left a 42-year-old man injured and residential streets locked down. Emergency services were called to Durar Drive and Ardshiel Avenue in Clermiston at approximately 8am on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Arrests and Injuries

A 42-year-old man was found injured at the scene and subsequently taken to hospital for treatment. Police have arrested three men, aged 32, 34, and 60, in connection with the incident. A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 8am on Thursday, 25 June, 2026, we were called to a report of a serious assault on Ardshiel Avenue in Edinburgh. Emergency services attended and a 42-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. Three men, aged 32, 34 and 60, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”

Scene and Evidence

The residential streets were locked down by officers, with images showing uniformed police standing guard. Among the items found at the scene were a metal bar and an arrow from a crossbow, along with various blood-stained items near a fence. One local resident reported: “I heard a guy got battered with a metal pole. There's blood all over the street. Six police cars are at the street, and it's all taped off. It's a bit worrying to see something like this first thing in the morning, to say the least.”

Forensic Investigation

Another image from the scene appears to show a baseball cap and an open first aid kit, with forensic markers on the pavement next to each item. Officers were seen wearing personal protective equipment, including face masks and gloves, as they combed through the evidence. Detectives and police vehicles remain on site inspecting the aftermath. The investigation is ongoing.
