A major fire broke out at Tipperty Industrial Estate near Ellon, Aberdeenshire, on Tuesday evening, July 7, 2026, prompting emergency services to urge local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to large volumes of smoke.
Nine Fire Crews Battling the Blaze
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 6:30pm. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that nine fire crews are currently tackling the inferno. No injuries have been reported so far.
Smoke Drifting Across Nearby A90
Videos shared on social media show huge plumes of smoke rising above the industrial estate. Drivers on the nearby A90 are advised to take extra care as smoke has been drifting across the road, reducing visibility.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are currently in attendance at a large fire within an industrial estate in Tipperty, near Ellon, Aberdeenshire. Due to large volumes of smoke, nearby residents are being asked to close windows and doors. Drivers on the nearby A90 are also being asked to take extra care due to smoke drifting across the road.
