Sean Gray, 58, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of murder following the discovery of two bodies in the quiet seaside town of St Leonards, East Sussex. The victims have been identified as Adrian Horton, 66, and Uschi Schild, 46. Their bodies were found at a property in Seven Acre Close in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police response and arrest
Surrey Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene shortly after 4.30am on Tuesday following reports that a man and a woman had been injured. Gray was subsequently arrested at an address in Battle Road. He is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Investigation ongoing
Detective Superintendent Jay Mendis-Gunasekera said: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the families, friends and loved ones of those who have died at this very difficult time. This remains a fast-moving investigation as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding these deaths. We believe that the suspects and the victims were known to each other and we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
Officers continue to carry out inquiries at the address and in the surrounding area. An increased police presence will remain while those inquiries continue. The community has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
