Police in Arizona have escalated their investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, after declaring her home near Tucson a crime scene. Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed that evidence at Nancy Guthrie's home indicates she did not leave voluntarily. "We believe now, after we've processed that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime," Nanos stated. He emphasised that Nancy, who is described as having very limited mobility, was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, with her family reporting her missing by noon on Sunday.
FBI and Homicide Investigators Join the Case
The investigation has now expanded to include the FBI and homicide investigators, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. Sheriff Nanos made a direct appeal to the community, saying, "I need this community to step up and start giving us some calls."
