Two Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Pimlico

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in Pimlico, central London, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing in Chichester Street at approximately 9.30pm on Tuesday, January 16. Emergency services attended and found a man in his 20s suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrests and Investigation

Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody at a central London police station. Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Appeal

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation, and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, or has any information, to contact us as soon as possible.”

He added: “This is a tragic incident that has resulted in the loss of a young life, and our thoughts are with the victim's family. We will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”

Community Impact

The stabbing has shocked the local community in Pimlico, a residential area near the River Thames. Residents reported hearing a commotion and seeing a heavy police presence in the area. One local resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “It's terrifying to think something like this happened so close to home. My thoughts are with the victim's family.”

Police have cordoned off the scene and are conducting forensic examinations. The investigation continues, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses.
