Sydney Schoolies Sexual Assault Allegation: Shore Student Accused of Rape
Schoolies Sexual Assault Allegation Rocks Sydney Elite Schools

A serious sexual assault allegation has cast a shadow over this year's Schoolies celebrations, involving students from two of Sydney's most prestigious private schools.

Alleged Assault at Surfers Paradise Hilton

The alleged incident occurred in the early hours of December 3, 2025, at the Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise. According to reports, an 18-year-old male student from the exclusive all-boys Shore School entered a room where a 17-year-old female student from the single-sex Loreto Kirribilli school was sleeping. It is alleged he then digitally raped her.

The matter was reported to the Surfers Paradise police station shortly after the alleged assault took place. Sources described the victim as being 'distraught', with the news generating significant anger among parents and the wider school community.

Police Investigation and Withdrawn Complaint

Queensland Police confirmed they investigated an alleged sexual assault at a Surfers Paradise hotel on that date. However, on December 17, the victim informed officers that she did not wish to proceed with a formal complaint, leading to the conclusion of the police investigation.

When approached for comment by the Daily Mail, both Shore School and Loreto Kirribilli did not immediately respond. The case highlights the ongoing safeguarding challenges during end-of-school celebrations.

Contrast with Broader Schoolies Behaviour

The allegation stands in stark contrast to the official praise heaped on the majority of 2025 Schoolies revellers. Queensland Police Acting Chief Superintendent Brett Jackson noted in November that there had been a positive trend, with young people looking out for one another.

'I was out there myself... and the Schoolies themselves have been behaving fantastically,' Superintendent Jackson said at the time. He commended the teenagers for their engagement with police and emergency services, revealing that officers made only one arrest within the first two nights of the Surfers Paradise event.

The Gold Coast Schoolies festival ran for two weeks, from November 22 to December 7. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential for serious crime amidst the largely peaceful festivities.
