Grinch Storms Wiltshire College: Festive Prank Leaves Students in Stitches
Student's Grinch Prank Causes Festive Chaos on Campus

A college campus in Wiltshire was thrown into festive disarray this week, not by a Christmas calamity, but by a hilarious student stunt. A teenager caused uproar by donning a full Grinch costume and embarking on a mischievous rampage through the halls of her college.

The Green Menace Arrives on Campus

Izzy Barnet, a 17-year-old student at Wiltshire College and University Centre's Salisbury campus, transformed into the iconic green Christmas character known for his disdain for the festive season. The performing arts pupil was filming a project when she decided to bring some chaotic cheer to her fellow students and staff on Wednesday, 18 December 2025.

In a scene straight out of Whoville, the Grinch was captured on camera causing merry havoc. The footage shows the character pushing over a Christmas tree, sliding down banisters, and throwing books around in the library. No area was safe, as the Grinch also played tricks on the receptionist and generally wreaked havoc around the computers.

A Performance Built on Improvisation

Speaking about her inventive performance, Izzy, who is studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts, explained her approach. "I relied heavily on improvisation and was able to build small scenes myself," she said. "Because I wasn't speaking, I used expressive body language to show how the Grinch was feeling."

Her motivation was simple: to spread laughter and festive spirit through chaos. "I thought it would be funny to impersonate someone that creates so much mischief," Izzy added. "I enjoy making people laugh and it was fun to be able to create my own version of a well-known character. I wanted to make people smile."

A Well-Received Stunt with Future Ambitions

Thankfully, the festive intrusion was met with laughter and delight rather than horror. Students and staff at the college found the unexpected appearance of the Christmas villain to be highly amusing, posing for photos with the chaotic character as she roamed the campus.

For Izzy, the prank was more than just a bit of fun; it was a step towards her future career. "After this year I'm planning on attending university to study Acting," she revealed, "so I can continue my passion for performing and hopefully turn it into a career." This Grinch-inspired performance certainly proved her knack for memorable and engaging character work, leaving a trail of smiles instead of stolen presents.
