Scotland fans have flooded Miami ahead of their World Cup group stage match against Brazil, bringing their trademark energy and a viral musical twist. A video shared by Fox Sports on Instagram shows four Scots driving through Florida, singing a parody of Will Smith's hit song "Miami" with lyrics tailored to the Tartan Army.
Viral Parody Captures Scottish Spirit
The clip, which has amassed over 60,000 views, features the fans in Scotland tops, sunglasses, and tartan hats, singing: "Scotland in the city with the sun cream on, drinking beers on the beach since the break of dawn. Welcome to Miami. Bienvenidos Tartan Army. Coming down from Boston with the kilts still on, Brazil are the team that we are taking on. We're going to Miami, we're the famous Tartan Army."
The video was shown on "After Hours with James Corden," where Corden joked about the difficulty of singing in a car, comparing it to his Carpool Karaoke series. He praised the Tartan Army as "incredible" during the World Cup, adding he is "already dreading when they go home." Broadcaster Gordon Smart responded on social media: "Who says we will ever go home @j_corden" followed by a laughing emoji.
Fans Take Over Miami
Over the past few days, the Tartan Army has been seen taking over South Beach, invading a baseball game, dancing with robots in the streets, and attending pool parties to beat the heat. Comedian Ian Kamel commented: "The sun burns that are about to happen are going to be studied by medical science for the next 100 years. With as much as they are drinking and aren't being used to what happens in Miami as they are, people are going to die or procreate to such an extent that Miami is going to have a Scottish accent in the next 20 years."
Social media users have shared their delight, with one writing: "Love it. So proud to be Scottish. Go the Tartan Army." A Bostonian added: "I'm from Boston and I love this... miss the Scottish so much." Another commented: "The Scots have stolen our hearts for all the right reasons."
