Bury Ice Cream Farm Wins Four Awards Near Country Park

Jersey Girls, an artisan ice cream farm located next to Burrs Country Park in Bury, has won four major awards at the Best of Northwest Local & Loved Awards, held on June 18 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. The awards include B2C Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Most Loved Bury Business, and Most Loved Food & Drink Business.

Location and Production

Located on Higher Woodhill Farm on Woodhill Road, the ice cream producer uses milk from its herd of Jersey cows to create a 'super local' product. The farm offers around 90 rotating flavours, including Jersey cream, mint choc ripple, and bubblegum. All ice cream is made on-site using high-quality ingredients.

Award-Winning Recognition

The team expressed gratitude: “When we started Jersey Girls, we simply wanted to share the beautiful milk from the Jersey herd and create a place where families could make memories together. We never imagined moments like this. To have our business recognised by the judges is incredible, but to know that so many of you took the time to vote for us, support us and champion us makes this feel extra special.” They thanked their team, local suppliers, and visitors for their support.

Farm Expansion and Attractions

Planning permission has been granted to expand the barn with a café and educational centre, increasing school trips and visitor experiences. The farm also houses goats, ducks, rabbits, donkeys, a bearded lizard, and two reindeer. The cows roam freely at the back of the property.
