Former Hollyoaks star Adam Woodward has taken to social media to announce that he and his partner are expecting their first child later this summer. The actor, who played Brody Hudson on the Channel 4 soap opera, shared the happy news with a sweet snap on Instagram.
The 33-year-old posted a baby scan image, confirming that his partner is due in August 2026. The photo also showed a babygro and knitted booties with ribbons tied around the ankles. Another silhouette image captured the actor kneeling down to plant a kiss on his partner's baby bump, with the text: "It's official... Baby Woodward due. Coming August 2026."
Captioning the post, Adam wrote: "Incoming bada*s." The post garnered over 3,000 likes and was flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and former co-stars. Parry Glasspool commented: "Amazing mate!" Nadine Mulkerrin added: "So gorgeous." Jessica Fox wrote: "Congratulations!" alongside a red heart emoji. David Tag exclaimed: "Whaaat?! Congratulations bro!" Adam Rickett reacted with four heart-eyes emojis. Eloise Lovell Anderson said: "Yay so happy for both of you! Amazing news."
Adam joined Hollyoaks in 2017 as Brody Hudson, a character described as "quite the ladies' man." His debut scenes in Ibiza paid homage to Daniel Craig's James Bond, and he spent hours in the gym to build muscle. However, after four years, his character was killed off when hit by a car. Adam had originally planned to leave in March 2020, but the pandemic led to a contract extension. In his final scenes, Brody was run over by Warren Fox to prevent him from speaking to police about a murder. Adam later admitted he hoped his character wouldn't be killed off, in case his career needed a reprisal, but he enjoyed departing in "a blaze of glory."
Before Hollyoaks, Adam appeared in Emmerdale as Nathan for six episodes in 2017 and as Grant for two episodes in 2015. Since leaving Hollyoaks, he has continued acting, starring as Kit Brennan in six episodes of the bilingual Welsh prison drama Bariau alongside Bill Skinner, Hywel Morgan, Dion Lloyd, and Sion Alun Davies.
Little is known about Adam's current partner. He previously dated his co-star Sophie Porley, who played Ellie Nightingale, but they split in 2020 after two years together.
