Bridgerton fans have been left astonished after discovering that Oli Higginson, who plays footman John in the Netflix series, is married to a well-known US actress. The 30-year-old actor has been married to Meaghan Martin since 2016, best known for her role as Tess in Disney's Camp Rock films.
Martin, who also appeared in ABC Family's 10 Things I Hate About You and Mean Girls 2, moved to the UK after marrying Higginson. The couple first met during a two-week summer drama course, where they were tasked with holding eye contact for five minutes straight.
John has been a recurring character across all four seasons of Bridgerton, serving as a reliable footman at Bridgerton House. He notably helped Eloise (Claudia Jessie) investigate Lady Whistledown in season one and assisted in organising Lady Violet Bridgerton's masquerade ball in the latest series.
