Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has criticised Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan's elaborate Christmas decorations, describing them as 'the preference of people with more money than sense'. In her column for Best magazine, McGiffin took aim at the couple's perfectly lit-up Essex mansion, which they showcased on social media.
McGiffin noted that while a flashy set of Christmas lights might seem 'magical' to children, the trend of hiring professional lighting companies is often driven by celebrities who receive discounted or free services in exchange for Instagram promotion. She questioned whether any follower would consider spending their mortgage payment on such decorations.
The comments come amid a wider debate about outdoor Christmas lights. In Chawton, Hampshire, a resident objected to brightly coloured festive lights, suggesting only white lights should be permitted. However, McGiffin said the complaint 'backfired brilliantly when a entire close covered their houses in multi-coloured flashing lights'.
Meanwhile, Mark Wright recently returned from Las Vegas where he suffered a head wound after a fall. The former TOWIE star assured fans he 'wasn't drunk' and that he was 'absolutely fine', sharing a video from his flight home to London.
