Asha Alahan is set to embark on a new romance with newcomer Sienna in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, as her friends play matchmaker during an intervention for Summer Spellman.
Asha's troubled romantic history on the Cobbles
Asha, played by Tanisha Gorey, has endured a series of heartbreaks on the soap. Her first relationship was with school crush Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), who coerced her into stripping on a webcam and later was responsible for the hate-crime attack that killed Seb Franklin. Asha exposed Corey's crimes to the police.
She then found love with Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), a fan-favourite pairing known as "Nasha." However, the relationship ended after Nina kissed Asha's twin brother Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) out of jealousy over Asha's closeness to her paramedic mentor Isla (Emily Dowson).
Following that breakup, Asha struggled with mental health issues stemming from her paramedic job. In 2025, a traumatic shift led to a suicide attempt. She has since moved back in with Nina, sparking hopes of a reunion among fans.
New love interest Sienna arrives
Now, Asha has set her sights on Sienna (Charlotte Tyree), her former supervisor. In next week's episodes, Summer, Amy (Ella Mulvaney), and Nina stage an intervention for Summer due to her recent health worries and the impact of Theo's murder. The gathering at the bistro takes a turn when Asha becomes distracted by Sienna's arrival.
According to soap sources, when it becomes clear that Sienna's date has stood her up, the girls urge Asha to make a move. The question remains whether Asha will take the chance and what Sienna's response will be.
Fan hopes for Nasha reunion
Despite this new development, many fans continue to hope for a reunion between Asha and Nina. The pair's relationship was praised for its depth and representation, with their love story often compared to iconic soap couples. However, Asha's new interest in Sienna suggests a different path forward.
