Dani Dyer, the 29-year-old TV personality and daughter of actor Danny Dyer, may return to Strictly Come Dancing this year after an ankle injury forced her to pull out of the 2025 series before it began.
According to sources cited by The Sun, Dyer was “gutted” to have quit the show but has been given another opportunity by the BBC. “She never got a chance to do a single show or a dance for the judges so when the door was opened for her again by the BBC she jumped at the chance,” a source said.
Dyer, who was partnered with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin, fractured her ankle during training. In a statement last year, she said: “To say I'm heartbroken is the biggest understatement... I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.”
While Dyer has not yet signed a contract, she is reportedly clearing her diary and has expressed her desire to participate. The BBC has not confirmed her return. Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn also withdrew from last year's competition on medical grounds.
