Dianne Buswell has opened up about her hopes of starting a family with boyfriend Joe Sugg, six years after they met on Strictly Come Dancing. The 36-year-old professional dancer told Prima magazine that the couple have always wanted children but are waiting for the right time.
Buswell and Sugg, 33, were paired together on the 16th series of the BBC dance competition in 2018. Although they did not win, romance blossomed after the show ended. “When Joe and I met, it wasn’t until the show ended that we realised we missed each other’s company a lot – our relationship went from there,” she said.
The Australian star, who now lives with Sugg in the countryside, said she is not worried about taking time out from dancing for a family. “I don’t see the point in worrying. When everything aligns, it will happen. I have to have that vision. I like to practise manifestation, I’m quite spiritual,” she added.
Buswell also discussed the challenges of fame, noting that the couple sometimes forget they are well-known. “It doesn’t feel that difficult to have a relationship in the public eye. We’re good at not taking notice of things that are written about us,” she said. However, she admitted that maintaining privacy around their home can be hard.
