Dr Ranj Singh has opened up about his journey of self-discovery, revealing that he came out as gay at the age of 30 after seeking therapy while married to a woman for seven years.
Therapy Led to Realisation
The television doctor and former Strictly Come Dancing star explained that despite achieving many of his career goals, he felt something was still missing in his life. This prompted him to seek therapy, which ultimately led to the realisation about his sexuality and the subsequent breakdown of his marriage.
New Relationship
Dr Singh is now in a relationship with actor James Colebrook, with whom he is reportedly very happy. He has spoken positively about the support he has received from friends, family, and fans since coming out.
Addressing Morning Live Absence
The medic also addressed speculation about his absence from the BBC programme Morning Live, denying that he was sacked. He explained that he is currently on a break to pursue brand collaborations and other opportunities, but intends to return to the show in the future.
Medical Licence on Hold
Dr Singh clarified that he has put his medical licence to practise on hold after 20 years of service with the NHS. He emphasised that this decision was made to pursue other dreams, but he remains a fully registered doctor and can return to practice at any time.
In a candid interview, Dr Singh reflected on the challenges of coming out later in life and the importance of self-acceptance. He hopes his story will inspire others who may be struggling with their own identities.
