MAFS Star Ella Morgan Opens Up About Transphobic Trolling After Brianna Ghey Murder

Married at First Sight star Ella Morgan has tearfully admitted to experiencing transphobic trolling, saying the murder of trans teenager Brianna Ghey inspired her to speak openly about her identity. In a candid interview to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, Morgan reflected on the abuse she has faced and how she has had to 'fight for her existence'.

The 30-year-old, who made history as the first transgender bride on the E4 series, paid tribute to Brianna, whose killing in February 2023 sparked nationwide protests and vigils. Morgan said the tragedy made her determined to honour those who 'don't get to live their life authentically'.

Morgan, a campaigner for trans rights, spoke about the emotional toll of online abuse. 'I've had to fight for my existence every single day,' she said, adding that the trolling has been 'heartbreaking' but that she feels a responsibility to use her platform.
