Gordon Ramsay Denies Bullying Allegations Amid Wedding Feud with In-Laws

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has publicly rejected accusations of bullying from his son-in-law's parents, instead claiming they "self-propelled" a barrage of negative stories ahead of their son's high-profile wedding. The fiery chef, 59, found himself at the centre of a bitter family dispute that overshadowed the lavish ceremony where his eldest daughter Holly exchanged vows with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.

Wedding Ceremony Overshadowed by Family Tensions

The December 27 wedding at Grade I listed Bath Abbey, attended by Ramsay's close friends David and Victoria Beckham, was marred by acrimonious family disagreements that resulted in Peaty's own mother Caroline being ordered to stay away from the celebrations. The roots of the fallout appear to trace back to Caroline failing to receive an invitation to Holly's Soho Farmhouse hen-do, though the exact catalyst remains disputed between the families.

Ramsay, who walked his influencer daughter down the aisle, told The Sun: "I am certainly not a bully, and it is so appalling to even suggest there was any bullying. That's absolute nonsense. It was sad to see that barrage of negativity that was self-propelled by them." He went on to praise his new son-in-law, describing Adam as "an incredible young lad" and calling the newlyweds "a wonderful, happy, young couple."

Conflicting Accounts of Family Treatment

In earlier comments to the Daily Mail, Ramsay and his wife Tana insisted they had "done nothing wrong" and claimed they had treated the Peaty family "like royalty" during the wedding preparations. However, relatives from the Peaty family strongly contested this version of events, with one relative declaring the Ramsays' denial was "a pack of lies" and accusing the TV chef of having "pushed the family too far."

The relative told The Sun: "How bl***y dare they. The sheer gall of them. The Ramsays did not treat Caroline like royalty at all – they treated her as though she was nothing. They ignored her existence and not once did Mrs Ramsay return any of Caroline's texts." They further claimed that a promised engagement day lunch never materialised.

Wedding Speech Controversy and Reconciliation Hopes Dashed

According to reports, Ramsay's wedding speech included what some interpreted as a sly dig at Adam's absent parents. The chef reportedly told his daughter Holly: "Shame you don't have the same," while also commenting on how beautiful his daughter looked and telling Adam: "Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to."

Caroline Peaty was reportedly left "outraged" and "hurt" by these remarks, with a family source telling the Daily Mail she believed Ramsay had "pre-planned" what she called a "cruel" and "very hurtful" swipe against her. Despite this, Ramsay doubled down on his speech during a January appearance on This Morning, insisting what he said was "perfect and warm."

The celebrity chef explained: "It's tough, honestly. Being the dad with three daughters, you dream of that moment and that moment arrives and you're just like a hot mess. But, the speech was perfect, it went well and you've got to find that… You've got to be warm, emotional… It's a tough gig."

Family Reconciliation Appears Unlikely

Last month, the Peaty family reportedly told friends they had "given up hope" of reconciling with their son after Ramsay referred to himself as "dad" in a comment on Adam's wedding video where the Olympian said he would "always choose" his new wife Holly. An insider revealed: "It's been a really emotional time for them as a family. They're coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side. It's dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future."

The newlyweds Adam and Holly spent their honeymoon at a stunning five-star resort in Mauritius, seemingly putting the family drama behind them as they begin their married life together. Meanwhile, representatives for Gordon Ramsay have been contacted by the Daily Mail for further comment on the ongoing family dispute.
