Gordon Ramsay Counsels Brooklyn Beckham in Public Family Dispute
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has weighed in on the highly publicised feud between Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his parents, Sir David and Victoria Beckham, offering pointed advice to the 26-year-old. In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Ramsay emphasised the importance of familial bonds, urging Brooklyn to "remember where you came from" and appreciate his mother and father while he still can.
Ramsay's Personal Perspective on the Beckham Family
Ramsay, a close family friend who invited the Beckhams to his daughter Holly's wedding last December, expressed affection for Brooklyn, describing him as having an "incredible" heart. However, he stressed the transient nature of parental relationships, noting that "one day you're not going to have your mum and dad, and you need to understand that." The chef acknowledged Brooklyn's desire to forge his own path independently but cautioned against severing ties with his origins.
The Ramsays and Beckhams share a longstanding friendship, with Ramsay and his wife Tana witnessing firsthand what he called the "solid" parenting of David and Victoria. "David as a dad is just incredible," Ramsay remarked, defending their character amidst the controversy.
Brooklyn's Explosive Allegations Against His Parents
The feud escalated last month when Brooklyn released a statement accusing his parents of prioritising "Brand Beckham" above all else and manipulating media narratives. He claimed they had attempted "endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding" and alleged his wife, Nicola Peltz, had been "disrespected" by the family. In a social media post, Brooklyn declared he does not wish to "reconcile," confirming rumours of a split.
Among the specific grievances, Brooklyn asserted his mother "danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone" at his wedding. Ramsay, who attended the event, dismissed this, stating, "There was nothing salacious, there was nothing inappropriate. Everyone was having fun, having a dance."
Ramsay's Own Experience with Family Conflicts
The 59-year-old chef is no stranger to familial tensions, having faced his own disputes following his daughter Holly's marriage to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. Reports from The Daily Mail indicate a feud between the Ramsay and Peaty families, exacerbated when Peaty's mother was excluded from the bride's hen do. When questioned about allegations that Peaty's family labelled him a bully, Ramsay responded philosophically: "Families fall out, right? But don't add fuel to the fire and just show a little bit of decorum, because it's not about the mum or dad."
This personal experience likely informs Ramsay's empathetic yet firm stance on the Beckham situation, highlighting the universal challenges of navigating family dynamics in the public eye.
