Harry Styles Leaves Fans Confused Over New Accent in BBC Interview

Harry Styles has left fans bemused after his accent appeared to change during a recent interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. The former One Direction star, who was promoting his new album Harry's House, sparked a flurry of comments on social media as listeners noted what they described as Australian and American influences in his voice.

One fan wrote on social media: 'Absolutely losing my mind over Harry Styles’ new accent this morning what on earth.' Another added: 'Obviously I adore Harry Styles but why has he got an Australian accent all of a sudden.' A third commented: 'Harry styles has such a funny accent bc he is so northern but says and EXTREMELY American.'

During the hour-long interview, Styles spoke about the bond he shares with his former One Direction bandmates, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan. He said: 'I look at people who kind of went through some version of what we went through, but on their own. I'm like, I can't imagine having done that, really. I feel really lucky that we always had each other to be this unit that felt like you could keep each other in check.'

Styles added: 'I think there is very much a respect between all of us, if we did something together. And that is something that you can't really undo. And you know, it's like a very deep love for each other, I think.'

This is not the first time a former One Direction member has confused fans with a changing accent. Liam Payne faced similar reactions after an interview at an Oscars party earlier this year, with his voice compared to a mix of Irish, American, and Welsh. In an Instagram live, Payne said: 'I’m good at accents, I pride myself on them! I just wish sometimes I could do my own.'
