Helen George Reveals Secret ADHD Diagnosis After Four Years

Call the Midwife star Helen George has publicly disclosed her ADHD diagnosis for the first time, revealing she has been living with the condition for several years but kept it hidden. The 41-year-old actress opened up on the podcast 'I'm ADHD! No You're Not!', hosted by Dr Mine Conkbayir and her husband, comedian Paul Whitehouse.

George explained that she received her diagnosis about three and a half years ago, after the birth of her second child. She said the realisation came when a male friend described how ADHD manifests in women with children, prompting a 'light bulb moment'. Before that, she admitted, 'I just thought I'm an actress, and everyone's batshit crazy.'

The actress is now considering medication to help manage her symptoms, noting that the world does not provide the necessary support for those with ADHD. 'As long as I've gotta do a tax return and deal with the children, I think we all have to do those things,' she said.
