In a refreshingly open discussion, Jennifer Aniston has publicly celebrated her new relationship with boyfriend Jim Curtis, describing him as 'quite extraordinary' in a rare and detailed personal revelation.
A 'Special and Normal' Partnership
The Friends icon, aged 56, spoke at length about Curtis for the first time during an interview with Elle magazine. While the publication identified her partner as a 'hypnotist' and 'transformational coach,' Aniston was quick to clarify that his talents extend much further.
'Hypnotism is one of the many things that he does,' she stated. 'He’s quite extraordinary and helps many, many people.'
Elaborating on his vocation, the Morning Show star explained: 'He’s very special, very normal, and very kind, and wants to help people heal, move through their trauma and stagnation into clarity. It’s a beautiful thing to commit your life to.'
Going Instagram Official
Aniston made her relationship with Curtis 'Instagram official' earlier this month, marking a significant step by sharing an intimate black-and-white photograph on her profile.
The sweet image showed the actress hugging him from behind, accompanied by a heartfelt caption that read: 'Happy birthday my love. Cherished,' followed by a red heart emoji.
Rumours of their romance first surfaced back in July, when the pair were spotted boarding a yacht in Mallorca, Spain, alongside Aniston's close friends Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka. That same month, Page Six reported seeing them dining together at the luxury coastal resort Ventana Big Sur in California.
Addressing Personal Narratives
This new chapter in her personal life comes as Aniston has become increasingly vocal about correcting public assumptions regarding her life choices, particularly concerning motherhood.
During a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, she addressed her decision against adoption after years of struggling with IVF and fertility issues.
'When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person,' she explained candidly. 'That’s the only way: selfish or not, whatever that is, I’ve wanted it.'
She recalled the emotional moment doctors informed her she had done all she could, stating: 'It’s very emotional, especially in the moment when they say, ‘That’s it’ – because there is a weird moment when that happens.'
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK published in October, Aniston expressed frustration with the persistent 'narrative' that painted her as childless by choice due to being 'a selfish workaholic.'
'They didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes,' she revealed.
Following their European vacation, Curtis himself hinted at his newfound happiness in a newsletter, writing: 'I am back from vacation and what an experience! When I was sick, sad, stuck and in pain, I never thought I would have the abundance, joy and love I now experience on a daily basis.'
Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005, and later to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018.
