Kate Cassidy Dumped for Comparing New Boyfriend to Late Liam Payne
Kate Cassidy Dumped Over Comparisons to Liam Payne

Kate Cassidy has opened up about her first attempt at dating after the death of her boyfriend Liam Payne, revealing she was recently dumped for comparing the new man to the late One Direction star.

Dumped Over Comparisons

The 27-year-old influencer shared the news with her 1.8 million TikTok followers, explaining that her new relationship ended because she couldn't stop measuring her new partner against Liam. She referred to the new man as 'Joe' to protect his privacy.

Cassidy said: 'I got dumped you guys. I have been super MIA on here about my updated dating situation, that is because I recently met someone.' She described Joe as 'really sweet' and noted that he had no social media, which she liked. The relationship moved quickly, with Cassidy meeting his family and going on trips together.

Struggles with Grief

Cassidy admitted that dating after losing someone she thought she would spend her life with has been tough. 'I physically look for Liam in every single guy that I meet. If they don't hit all the checkmarks I tend to either back away or almost resent this person,' she said.

She recounted moments of anger when Joe didn't act like Liam. 'There were certain times where I would get so angry with this guy, because I would physically be like, 'Oh well Liam would do this so why aren't you doing this?' Or he would do something and I would be like, 'Liam would never do that, why are you doing that?''

Joe eventually texted Cassidy to end things, saying 'it's just too much.' Cassidy said she understands and feels sad about losing someone, especially in the early stages of a relationship.

Support from Fans

Followers flooded her comments with supportive messages. One wrote: 'Eventually you will find the right person again. Hope you are doing okay love.' Another said: 'Liam will send you the right person at the right time.'

Cassidy's update comes after it was reported that Liam's son Bear, aged 9, who is being raised by his mother Cheryl, is set to inherit Liam's entire £21 million fortune, which will be placed in a trust until he reaches adulthood.

Liam Payne tragically died in October 2024 after falling from a balcony in Argentina, shortly after vacationing there with Cassidy. She has previously spoken about her journey with grief.
