Kate Ferdinand has broken her silence after the family's relocation to Dubai was rocked by air strikes linked to US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The wife of former England footballer Rio Ferdinand took to Instagram to reassure her 1.4 million followers that they are safe, describing the previous night as 'very scary'.
'Thank you for all your messages and sorry for the silence, I haven't wanted to worry you all,' she wrote. 'I just haven't been able to find the words. We are safe. The government are doing an amazing job of keeping it that way and despite my nerves I feel we are in very safe hands.'
Kate added that her children Cree and Shae enjoyed the unusual experience of a basement sleepover. 'We are hoping for a calmer evening tonight,' she said. 'This whole experience is very eye opening and I am praying for anyone affected.'
Other celebrities caught up in the tensions include former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, who said she was 'effectively stuck' in Dubai after her flight to Australia was cancelled. Love Island's Laura Anderson and Arabella Chi also confirmed they were safe with their children.
