A kilted Scotland fan has been filmed rollerblading down Miami beach while playing the bagpipes, as the Tartan Army descends on Florida for the final Group C match against Brazil.
Flying Scotsman on wheels
The man, dressed in a Scotland strip, kilt, backward cap, sunglasses and roller-skates, was seen casually skating along 10th Street Beach while performing 'We’ll Be Coming' on the bagpipes. Bystanders whipped out their phones to capture the unusual sight, which quickly went viral on social media.
One commenter called him 'literally the flying Scotsman the way he’s roller-skating'. Others praised his skill, with one saying 'Okay, on roller-skates? That's impressive' and another calling it 'a belter'. A social media user joked: 'I wish I had his hand eye coordination skills.'
Tartan Army invades Miami
Thousands of Scotland supporters have arrived in Florida ahead of Wednesday night's crucial match against Brazil at the Hard Rock Stadium. A draw would all but guarantee Scotland's first-ever qualification from a group stage at a major tournament, while even a loss might suffice depending on other results.
The atmosphere in Miami is vibrant, with Scots mingling with fans from Argentina, Uruguay, Cape Verde, Colombia and Brazil. One American fan urged the bagpiper to 'stay hydrated friend and don’t get sunburned! It’s hot down here,' while another nostalgic east-coaster added: 'Bring them back to Boston. I miss them.'
Contrast with Boston scenes
The scenes in Miami are a world away from the wild celebrations in Boston, where tens of thousands of Tartan Army supporters took over the city and drank pubs dry. Nevertheless, the spirit remains high as fans soak up the sun and enjoy the unique camaraderie.
