Cheryl Hines has opened up about her fractured relationship with former co-star Larry David, suggesting the 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' creator is upset because her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is now serving in the Trump administration. Hines, who played David's on-screen wife for 12 seasons, said she believes David is 'mad' about Kennedy's position as Health and Human Services secretary.
In an interview with NewsNation, Hines explained that she and David have not spoken since the series finale in April 2024. 'I think he's mad … because Bobby's in the administration,' she said, referring to Kennedy. David, a prominent liberal, had opposed Kennedy's presidential bid and has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration.
Despite the apparent rift, Hines expressed a willingness to reconcile. 'I actually think I would be fine talking to Larry,' she said. 'If I walked into a restaurant and he was there, I would be happy to see him and I'd say hi.' She downplayed the depth of their friendship, noting they primarily saw each other at work.
Hines also addressed whether she feels shunned by Hollywood due to her husband's controversial political career. She said many in the industry have privately supported her, with reactions ranging from concern to full endorsement of Kennedy's work. 'I haven't had any falling outs,' she added.
