David Harbour has spoken publicly for the first time about his ex-wife Lily Allen's revealing album West End Girl, describing the experience as 'weird' but respecting her artistic expression.
The Stranger Things actor, who separated from Allen in early 2025 after a four-year marriage, addressed the album in an interview with Variety. 'I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that,' he said.
Harbour declined to comment on specific claims made in the album, which details infidelity and emotional manipulation. 'Stories are complex and that's why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience. It wasn't my experience,' he added.
Allen has described the album as 'a mixture of fact and fiction'. In a separate interview with Vogue, she said: 'There are things that are on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that's not to say that it's all gospel.'
Harbour also addressed reports of a rift with Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown, denying any lasting tension. 'You'll see more of me and Millie – 10 years wasn't enough,' he said, describing their bond as 'special'.
