Manosphere influencer Myron Gaines has criticised Louis Theroux following the release of the documentary 'Inside The Manosphere', claiming the filmmaker edited the footage to push a 'clear agenda'. Gaines, 36, hosts the 'Fresh and Fit' podcast and has written a book titled 'Why Women Deserve Less'. He was filmed discussing his relationship with his then-girlfriend Angie, whom he described as being in a 'one-way monogamous' arrangement.
In the documentary, Gaines told Theroux he wanted 'multiple wives' while Angie remained monogamous. Theroux questioned Angie about the arrangement, and she appeared uncertain about the future. The couple later split, with Gaines claiming on Instagram that Angie wanted a family and he was not ready. The documentary revealed they broke up six months ago.
Gaines took to social media to accuse Theroux of 'selectively editing and framing the footage' and claimed the documentary was a 'hit piece'. He alleged that a scene where they debated his antisemitic views was omitted, stating he had a 'whole debate about Hitler' that Theroux 'lost'. Gaines also called Theroux a 'coward' and branded Netflix 'woke garbage'.
The Standard has contacted Theroux's representatives for comment. 'Inside The Manosphere' is available on Netflix.
