TV personality Narinder Kaur has contacted the Metropolitan Police after being targeted by online trolls who created a deepfake image of her alongside convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The image, which was shared on X, superimposed Kaur's face onto a photograph of Epstein with his last known girlfriend, Karyna Shuliak, taken at a New York event in 2014.
Kaur, known for her appearances on Jeremy Vine and Good Morning Britain, expressed her distress on social media, writing: 'And still they are able to generate disgusting images to degrade me..now one with pedophile Epstein. People already wondering if this is true. Horrific.' Fans urged her to report the matter, and she confirmed that she had done so.
A source close to the star told the Mirror that Kaur felt she had no choice but to involve the police. The source revealed that over the past month, a wave of deepfakes had targeted her, including fabricated images and videos that unclothed her, showed her being deported in a bikini, and depicted her barking and eating dog food on a TV panel. 'It is deliberately designed to dehumanise her,' the source said.
This is not the first time Kaur has been the victim of such abuse. In January, she discovered fake videos of her in sexual positions, including one showing her kissing a man who had been trolling her online. She told the Guardian at the time: 'It is so confusing, for a second it just looks so believable, it’s very humiliating.' She also noted a racial element to the abuse, with images depicting her being deported.
The source added that the hardest part for Kaur is how the ordeal affects her children, who find it deeply upsetting to see their mother go through yet another online attack. Kaur has been heartened by the support from her followers, who have reported the offensive posts, and she hopes this serves as a reminder that such behaviour is not normal.
