Louis Tomlinson has admitted he is not ready to make amends with former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik, accusing him of being 'disrespectful'. In an interview with The Sun, the 28-year-old singer said he believes Zayn has spoken negatively about the band but understands that sometimes people just want to 'run their mouth'.
Tomlinson stated he is still in contact with Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne 'sporadically', but no longer speaks to Zayn. When asked if he had tried to reconcile, he replied: 'No, but I've not actively tried. We've all got a lot on our plates and there might be a day where I wake up and think: 'OK, I want to right that wrong', but not yet.'
The comments contrast with earlier remarks this week, where Tomlinson told Rolling Stone Magazine he 'absolutely f***ing loves' his One Direction bandmates and criticised former members who 'chat s***' about the group for 'cool points'. He said he is 'super proud' of his time in the band and believes the other members 'would be lying' if they claimed they did not enjoy it.
Tomlinson also praised the solo music of his former bandmates, calling it 'really f***ing good', and attributed the band's appeal to the fact they were not as tightly controlled as other boy bands.
