Olivia Attwood Opens Up About Cosmetic Surgery Journey and Celebrity Inspirations

Olivia Attwood, the former Love Island star, has candidly revealed that her first breast augmentation surgery was directly inspired by the looks of celebrities Katie Price and Pamela Anderson. The 34-year-old television personality, however, emphasises that she would never want to "normalise surgery" for her younger audience.

Multiple Procedures and Early Influences

Attwood has never been shy about discussing her numerous cosmetic procedures, which include two breast augmentations, lip surgery, under-eye treatments, and multiple injectable fillers that she has maintained "for years." In 2019, the same year she became a regular on The Only Way Is Essex, she underwent a £2,500 chin liposuction and contouring procedure.

Speaking recently on her Olivia's House podcast with Dr Motox, Attwood reflected on her early motivations for surgery. "When I had the massive stick on boobs when I was 21, I looked like someone had blown me up," she told the medical professional. "I wanted that because of Katie Price and Pamela Anderson. I didn't even know if I looked good."

The reality star acknowledged that she has since learned to distinguish between personal desires and external influences. "Since I've had to work out if I've wanted to do something myself or if I've been influenced," she explained.

Questionable Procedures and Industry Concerns

Attwood also humorously addressed some of her more extreme early procedures, particularly regarding lip fillers. "You could have stuck me to a window with my old lips!" she joked during the podcast conversation, which explored the largely unregulated aesthetics industry in the United Kingdom.

Despite her openness about her own experiences, the Instagram influencer with 2.6 million followers was clear about her stance on cosmetic surgery normalisation. "I don't want to normalise surgery as it's not normal and I have a younger audience," Attwood stated. "It is still surgery, you are being put to sleep."

She added: "But I do always want to look my best. People always message me saying I look so much younger on Love Island and I'm like 'yes because I was 10 years younger!' But I only ever do things that I want to do."

Regrets and Revisions

Speaking previously to The Times about her decision to undergo breast enlargement at just 20 years old, Attwood admitted: "I was fixated and it was cheap and quick." She soon experienced complications from the procedure. "These bloody boobs were so heavy. I was happy for a year, then I realised they didn't look right for my frame."

The weight of the implants caused significant issues. "The weight of the implants started to stretch my skin and they got lower and lower," she recalled. "I started to think, 'This isn't what I signed up for at all'."

In June 2019, Attwood underwent breast reduction surgery, replacing her original implants with smaller ones. She expressed pride in her "banging" new breasts afterwards, explaining: "I had a downsize - old ones out, new ones in, because I'd had those implants since I was 19. They were really heavy and too big for my body, so I was starting to get some really bad aching."

She added: "I can't wait to be able to wear more clothes now without my boobs falling out, putting people off their dinner."

Wise Words for Others Considering Surgery

In an exclusive 2020 interview with the Daily Mail, Attwood offered advice to women considering cosmetic procedures. She urged them to "make sure you're doing it for yourself, not because that's what's trendy."

Using her own experiences as examples, she explained: "When I had the big boobs - the first boob job - that was the fashion. Then the fashion changed, and I felt uncomfortable." She noted similar patterns with lip fillers: "When lip fillers burst onto the scenes a couple of years ago, everyone wanted them as big as possible, and now the natural look is definitely making a comeback."

Attwood concluded with wisdom gained from her journey: "I think what I've learned - and a lot of people have learned - is that with our bodies, we've got to be so careful not to follow fashion." Her story serves as both a cautionary tale about cosmetic trends and an example of personal evolution regarding body image and surgical choices.
