Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers, once a beloved celebrity couple, parted ways in 2022. Their relationship began in April 2020 when Mescal gained fame from the TV series 'Normal People'. Bridgers, a fan of the show, tweeted her admiration, sparking a flirty exchange.
In May 2020, they interviewed each other for Wonderland Magazine, displaying notable chemistry. By July, they were photographed together at a café in Cork, Ireland. Mescal referred to his 'girlfriend' in a November 2020 GQ interview, praising her support.
Mescal starred in the music video for Bridgers' song 'Savior Complex' in December 2020. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the 2021 LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2021, and Bridgers made their relationship Instagram official in December 2021.
The couple attended the 2022 Met Gala together. However, by December 2022, speculation of a breakup emerged after Bridgers' emotional verse on SZA's 'Ghost in the Machine'. Neither confirmed the split, but Mescal told Vanity Fair in February 2023 that addressing rumours does not 'serve' him, and he declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter.
Since the split, Bridgers has been linked to comedian Bo Burnham, while Mescal appears to be single.
