Ricky Martin's surprise appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday has sparked discussion about his remarkably youthful appearance. The 54-year-old singer performed alongside Bad Bunny at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, singing a rendition of Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii while seated next to a plantain tree.
Dr Sean McNally, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Portland, Oregon, assessed photos and video of Martin's performance and shared his thoughts on possible cosmetic procedures. He told the Daily Mail that he does not believe Martin has undergone major surgery such as a facelift, neck lift, brow lift, or blepharoplasty. However, he noted two areas of significant improvement: midface shape and volume, and skin tone and texture.
McNally suggested that Martin may have used filler or fat grafting to enhance his midface volume. He also pointed to improved skin tone, likely achieved through a combination of good skincare and laser treatments such as Moxi or erbium lasers, which can address hyperpigmentation and signs of ageing. The surgeon added that Martin's facial animation appears too dynamic for Botox use.
The halftime show, headlined by Bad Bunny, also featured a surprise appearance by Lady Gaga, who performed Die With A Smile in a salsa-style arrangement. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl LX.
