Scarlett Moffatt's Noughties Party Throwbacks Amid Pregnancy

Scarlett Moffatt has delighted her Instagram followers by sharing a series of nostalgic throwback photographs from her partying days in the noughties. The 35-year-old television personality, who is currently expecting her second child, took to social media on Sunday to reminisce about dancing until they had 'sweaty tashes' and pairing layers of fake tan with 'full office gear of peplum tops and pencil skirts'.

A Blast from the Past

In the images, Scarlett appears almost unrecognisable compared to her present-day self, sporting backcombed hair, thick eyeliner, multiple layers of fake tan, towering heels, and pencil skirts while posing with friends on wild nights out. She accompanied the photos with a heartfelt caption, writing: 'Sometimes I think back to when I was in my early 20s and I think oh I wish I'd taken more pictures. But then I think no that's partly why we had so much fun, there were no phones on a night out.'

She continued: 'We would do laps of the club not knowing who was out... We would share a bottle of Echo Falls not knowing what was about to happen cos no one had updated a status lol. We went out dressed in full office gear of peplum tops and pencil skirts to dance until we had sweaty tashes lol.'

Reflecting on her younger sister's experiences, she added: 'Sometimes I look at my 19-year-old sister and wish she could experience even just one weekend like we used to have (I sound old I know). I was 19 here I can smell the sweaty biscuit smell of fake tan through the picture. Honestly what a time to be alive lol.'

From Gogglebox to Stardom

Scarlett first rose to fame on the Channel 4 show Gogglebox in 2014 at the age of 23. She left the programme in 2016 and went on to win I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! that same year, further cementing her showbiz career.

Pregnancy Journey and Fertility Struggles

The throwback photos come shortly after Scarlett revealed she took '11 pregnancy tests' before believing she was pregnant with her second child, following a difficult fertility journey. The I'm A Celebrity star feared she would never have another child after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage while 'quite far along'.

Now, Scarlett and her fiancé Scott Dobinson, who are already parents to son Jude, are preparing to welcome a baby boy. 'It felt so overwhelming,' she told The Sun. 'We are honestly so thrilled, especially for Jude, as I never thought that we would be able to give him a little brother or sister. I'm just so over the moon that we get to.'

Scarlett previously opened up about her fertility struggles with former pop star Sinitta during her stint on I'm A Celebrity and also revealed she had suffered a miscarriage. She said: 'After Jude, we tried again and got quite far along and miscarried and it was just... I remember Scott's mam and dad took Jude for the day and me and Scott just laid in bed crying and it was just awful. Because in our head, we were just like, "Imagine them running down the stairs at Christmas together". You're mourning a life that you imagined.'

She added: 'Me and Scott didn't even look at each other while it was on. We just held hands on the sofa and gripped each other. It was so lovely.'

Stay-at-Home Dad and Baby Joy

While Scarlett took almost two years away from work after having Jude in 2023, things will be different this time. Her partner Scott has decided to take a career break from his job as a police officer, joining a growing trend in the UK where stay-at-home dads have surged by 30 per cent in the past decade, according to Office for National Statistics data.

The TV personality confessed she was hoping for another son, feeling she is 'born to be a boy mum'. She told The Mirror: 'All my family and friends knew I wanted another boy. Of course it would've been wonderful to have had a girl – a healthy baby is all that matters – but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother. I'm just so happy for him. He's got someone to share his life with now.'

In April, Scarlett shared the happy news on Instagram Stories with a photo of the three of them, cradling her growing belly. She posted a poll asking fans to guess the baby's gender based on the bump position and her cravings for cheese. She wrote: 'My bump is very high this time and I started showing early from around 14 weeks. My cravings have been grated cheese, cheese toasties, cheese scones lol (did I mention cheese ha).'

She also candidly revealed that her first trimester was 'hell', battling common pregnancy side effects. 'Also for those lovely ones saying I'm glowing, let me tell you the first trimester was HELL lol. I was driving to jobs and having mini sicks then filming, getting hot and cold flushes and migraines. So I'm now accepting compliments lol thank you.'

Scarlett announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a heartwarming video of her holding up the ultrasound scan alongside Scott and Jude. She wrote: 'We honestly can't believe we're writing this… After everything, we feel unbelievably lucky to be able to say… our family is growing. One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he's going to be a big brother. And if there's one thing we know for certain, it's that he is going to be the most amazing big brother. We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock… Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible.'

The former Gogglebox star has previously spoken about her challenging four-year fertility journey before welcoming Jude in June 2023.
