Jonah Platt, son of 'Snow White' producer Marc Platt, has criticised star Rachel Zegler for her political statements, claiming they harmed the film's box office performance. In a now-deleted Instagram comment, the 38-year-old actor and podcast host accused Zegler of 'narcissism' for 'dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting a movie.'
Platt's comments came in response to a user who referenced reports that his father had flown to New York to reprimand Zegler over a social media post reading 'and always remember, free palestine.' Jonah Platt defended his father's actions, stating that Zegler, as a paid employee, had a responsibility to focus on publicity rather than personal politics.
'Free speech does not mean you're allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions,' Platt wrote. He added that tens of thousands of crew members depended on the film's success, and Zegler's actions 'clearly hurt the film's box office.'
According to Variety, Marc Platt also met with Zegler after she posted 'Fuck Donald Trump' and 'May Trump supporters … never know peace.' Following that meeting, Disney hired a social media professional to vet Zegler's online activity.
