Rita Ora on Breaking Boundaries and Female Empowerment at Red Sea Film Festival
Rita Ora: 'I Don't Want to Limit Myself as Just a Musician'

British pop star Rita Ora has declared she refuses to be confined to a single label, championing female empowerment and lifelong learning at a major international film event.

A Message of Empowerment in Jeddah

The 35-year-old singer and actress shared her views while attending the Women In Cinema event at The Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ora emphasised she is still "constantly learning" and actively "breaking boundaries."

She explained her philosophy against self-imposed limits, stating: "They tend to limit themselves as just one category and you don't really need to do that." Ora described seeing herself as "an amateur everyday" due to her perpetual quest for knowledge, adding a powerful note: "You should never walk into the room thinking you don't have power as you do."

Inspiring Women and a Vision for the Future

While she said her mother remains the woman she looks up to "first and foremost," Ora cited iconic figures like Madonna, Blondie, and Cher as inspirations for their multifaceted careers. "They are people who have done more than one thing and that's exactly what I love to do," she remarked.

Reflecting on broader issues, Ora touched on topics from equal pay to menopause, expressing her belief that women supporting each other should be a natural norm. "I'm very lucky to say I'm embracing that kind of energy and I want to keep that going for the future generations," she concluded.

Star Power and Festival Highlights

The festival, with its 2025 theme 'For the Love of Cinema,' drew guests to Jeddah's historic Al-Balad district. Ora made a striking appearance on stage in a stunning Ellie Saab gown featuring a floral bodice and puffball skirt.

Earlier, she graced the red carpet in a light grey, semi-sheer fishtail dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The event's opening night also served as the world premiere of 'Giant,' the biographical drama about British boxing legend Prince Naseem Hamed, starring Amir El-Masry and Pierce Brosnan.
