Tomodachi Life Living the Dream Revives Cult Classic with Bonkers Social Sim Fun
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream Revives Cult Classic with Bonkers Social Sim Fun

Thirteen years after the original Tomodachi Life for Nintendo 3DS, the series returns with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, a bigger and sillier social simulation game. The new title offers improved creation tools, allowing players to customise Miis with gender, dating preferences, personality sliders for movement, speech, energy, and attitude, as well as pronouns and familial relationships.

Players can create up to 70 Miis on their island, who interact unpredictably through mini-games like bowling, quizzes, and a creepy version of Red Light, Green Light. The gameplay loop involves addressing Miis' needs to earn wish energy, which unlocks new treasures, quirks, and building options, making it simple yet effective.

The game is praised for its inclusivity and accurate personality matching, with Miis often reflecting real-life friends uncannily. It avoids overwhelming players despite its depth, and the increased customisation options are a major improvement over the 2013 original.
