Gordon Ramsay has voiced his support for David Beckham amid the fallout from his feud with Brooklyn. In recent years, former footballer David has been estranged from his eldest son, with tensions escalating earlier this year.
Brooklyn's Public Outburst
In a blistering Instagram post, Brooklyn lashed out at his parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria, accusing them of prioritizing "Brand Beckham." He also claimed they wanted him to sign over the rights to his name ahead of his marriage to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz-Beckham. Brooklyn subsequently blocked his immediate family on social media but remained in contact with his grandparents and family friend Gordon Ramsay.
Ramsay's Support
During an appearance on Good Day New York, Ramsay spoke about his bond with the former Manchester United star, whom he called an incredible chef. "We've been mates for the last two and a half decades, the kids grew up together," Ramsay said. He added, "As you know, in this ever-changing moment in their lives, kids need help, we're there for all of them – that's most important."
This isn't the first time Ramsay has thrown his support behind the Beckham family. Earlier this year, he described the situation as "very difficult" and revealed that Victoria is upset, emphasizing how much David loves Brooklyn. "Brooklyn and I have messaged a little bit; our relationship is solid. I love him – his heart is incredible," Ramsay told The Sun.
Ramsay's Advice to Brooklyn
Ramsay suggested that Brooklyn may be blinded by love but predicted his love for his parents will eventually return. He shared that he has seen firsthand how many times David and Victoria have "got Brooklyn out of the s**t." Ramsay urged Brooklyn to "remember where he came from" and understand that his parents won't be around forever. While Brooklyn has been taken under the wing of the Peltz family, Ramsay reminded him that his own parents "have done more for you than anyone did in your entire life."
Background of the Feud
Over the years, David and Victoria have been strong supporters of Brooklyn throughout his various career attempts as a model, photographer, and chef. Last month, Victoria made a cryptic comment about the feud, telling The Wall Street Journal, "I think that we've always - we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children."
