Lizzo marked her 38th birthday by rocking a tiny strapless mini-dress and matching thigh-high boots, which she likened to a scene from HBO's Euphoria. The four-time Grammy winner posted a slow-motion TikTok video showing off her figure in the revealing outfit, accessorized with a blonde curly wig, hoop earrings, a party cone hat, and a noisemaker.
Weight Loss Journey
The rapper-singer-flautist, born Melissa Jefferson, has famously shed 60 pounds from her 5ft10in frame over the past two years. She lowered her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5 and lost 16% of her body fat. After repeatedly denying using the drug Ozempic, Lizzo confessed on the Just Trish podcast in June that she had tried it in the past.
Birthday Celebrations
Lizzo began her birthday on Monday morning at her $24 million Beverly Hills home with a six-inch Milk Bar cake from Christina Tosi. She ended the evening at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood with a second cake featuring her upcoming album cover. The Don't Make Me Love You singer was joined by her boyfriend since 2021, comedian Myke Wright, and her famous friend SZA, with whom she collaborated on a 2023 remix of her hit Special.
New Album Promotion
Using her birthday as a promotional opportunity, Lizzo urged fans to pre-order her fifth studio album Bi***, set for release on June 5. She and four female friends painted their own interpretations of the album cover, sharing the results on Instagram. Celebrities including SZA, Latto, Kandi Burruss, and Paris Hilton sent birthday wishes.
Upcoming Projects
Lizzo is scheduled to headline Netflix Is A Joke Presents: Lizzo: A Night of Music & Comedy on May 7 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, which is nearly sold out. She will also produce and star in a biopic about pioneering electric guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe, marking her biggest acting role to date.
Legal Issues
On January 9, Lizzo settled a copyright infringement lawsuit from the GRC Trust over alleged sampling in an American Eagle Jeans parody. She also faces a jury trial in Santa Monica Courthouse over a sexual, religious, and racial harassment lawsuit filed by former back-up dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. Lizzo has denied all allegations.
