Rita Ora has made a surprising confession about her husband Taika Cohen's 50th birthday party, admitting she can recall very little of the lavish celebration. The singer and actress, 35, hosted the event in Ibiza last August, surrounded by A-list guests including Matt Damon, Sacha Baron Cohen, and supermodel Kate Moss.
Rita Ora's Blurred Memories
Speaking at the King's Trust Awards held at London's Royal Albert Hall, Rita revealed that the night became a blur. When asked about the party, she said: 'Oh, goodness, yes – it was a lot of fun, but I’m not going to lie, I can’t remember much of it!' The couple rented a villa in the Spanish party destination for the milestone celebration.
Dealing with Online Criticism
Rita, who married filmmaker Taika Cohen in 2022, also opened up about handling online trolls. She explained that criticism only becomes problematic when you expose too much of your personal life while creating music. 'Once the music is out there, opinions come with the job, and you kind of accept that everyone’s going to feel differently,' she said.
Offering advice to aspiring artists, Rita emphasised the importance of staying true to oneself. 'I would say a big part of it is about not being too swayed by people’s opinions. It’s hard because, naturally, you want everyone’s approval. That’s human nature. But sometimes, asking for too many opinions can actually make you doubt your own creative instincts. Sometimes, you just need to go for it.'
Career Philosophy
Reflecting on her career, which began with her breakout hit 'Hot Right Now' in 2012, Rita said she prefers to keep her options open. 'I’ve never really limited myself. I think people have got to know me through music, fashion and TV – I’ve always been quite 360 in the way I approach my career,' she stated. 'I just want to keep doing things that I genuinely enjoy, it’s really as simple as that.'
