Katie Price Admits 'I've Gone Too Far' After 'Gaunt' Photos Spark Concern
Katie Price Breaks Silence on 'Gaunt' Photos, Seeks Help

Former glamour model Katie Price has broken her silence on recent paparazzi photographs that captured her looking noticeably thinner during a shopping excursion with her daughter Princess Andre last week. The 47-year-old mother of five has admitted she was 'horrified' by her 'gaunt' appearance in the images and has now decided to seek professional medical help to understand her significant weight loss.

Public Concern Over Appearance

The photographs emerged after Katie and her 18-year-old daughter Princess visited the upmarket Selfridges department store in central London. What should have been a fun mother-daughter outing quickly became overshadowed by widespread concern from fans and followers who expressed alarm at Katie's changed appearance on social media platforms.

When Princess shared a video from their shopping trip on her Instagram account, the comments section became flooded with messages expressing worry about Katie's health and wellbeing. This public reaction prompted Katie to address the situation directly during the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show.

'Horrified' by Paparazzi Snaps

During the podcast episode titled 'Weight Loss Scrutiny', Katie's sister and co-host Sophie Price raised the topic of the controversial photographs. Katie responded candidly, revealing her shock upon seeing the images for the first time.

'First of all we didn't see a photographer, it was pouring down with rain and we were running to the train,' Katie explained. 'When I saw those pictures I was horrified. They've doctored those pictures. My face doesn't look bad like that. I know I look gaunt but Jesus. But yeah I look like I'm ill - hence why I'm going to the doctors tomorrow.'

The television personality emphasized that she has been trying to address her weight concerns, stating: 'I don't know how many times I have to say to people, 'Yes I know I've lost weight,' and there's obviously a reason I said it to the doctor.'

Seeking Medical Answers

Katie revealed that she has booked a doctor's appointment and will be undergoing blood tests to determine the cause of her weight loss. During the podcast conversation, Sophie questioned her sister about her self-care routine, asking specifically about eating habits, vitamin intake, and hydration.

'I've been drinking lots of water because I've got a blood test tomorrow, so I'll get the results back,' Katie responded, indicating her commitment to understanding what's happening with her body.

Interestingly, Katie disclosed that the negative attention surrounding her appearance has actually influenced her to take action she didn't initially want to pursue. 'Because I look so bad it's had an influence and I've had filler put in my face which I didn't want to do,' she admitted.

Family Concerns and Private Struggles

This isn't the first time concerns have been raised about Katie's health. Just last month, sources revealed to the Mirror that Katie's family were worried about her wellbeing after she appeared unsteady on her feet during a public appearance at Yasmin Oukhellou's business launch event.

A family source explained that those close to Katie have been having 'open, honest conversations' with her about both her physical health and mental wellbeing. 'Those conversations come from a place of love, care and support, and they remain private within the family,' the source emphasized.

The insider also addressed recent media coverage from alleged friends who described Katie's weight loss as 'absolutely devastating,' calling such commentary 'cruel, hurtful and deeply insensitive' and accusing certain outlets of reducing 'a very real, very personal journey into a sensationalised narrative.'

Personal Challenges Beyond Weight

During the same podcast episode, Katie opened up about additional personal challenges she's been facing, particularly concerning her 23-year-old son Harvey. Harvey, who has multiple health conditions including Prader-Willi Syndrome, septo-optic dysplasia, autism, ADHD, and cortisol deficiency, recently returned to temporary accommodation ahead of a planned move closer to his mother.

Katie described the transition as difficult for Harvey, revealing: 'I've had Harvey as well the past two weeks and he's not been good. He didn't want to go, crying, it reminded me of when he was younger so he threw my bedroom furniture about.'

She detailed incidents of property damage and emotional distress, explaining that care staff attributed Harvey's behavior to his desire to be with his mother. 'All because, I said, 'What's caused it' and they said, 'Because he wants you'. He just loves being at home with me,' Katie shared emotionally.

Moving Forward with Medical Support

Despite the challenges, Katie remains focused on addressing her health concerns through proper medical channels. She maintains that her eating habits haven't changed significantly, telling listeners: 'I just wanna put on weight, I really do but I'm just not. Everyone knows I eat - I eat everything that I want, I've never had a problem with what I eat.'

The former model's decision to seek professional medical advice represents a significant step in addressing the concerns raised by both her family and the public. As she awaits test results and medical guidance, Katie continues to navigate the complex intersection of public scrutiny, personal health, and family responsibilities that define her current circumstances.

Her candid discussion on the podcast marks a departure from simply ignoring public commentary about her appearance, instead choosing to acknowledge the concerns while taking concrete steps toward understanding and potentially resolving the underlying issues contributing to her weight loss.
