Richard Keys Grins Amid Gabby Logan Tribute Row After Claridge's Lunch
Richard Keys Untroubled by Gabby Logan Tribute Controversy

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys showed no signs of concern on Tuesday despite a growing social media storm over a controversial online tribute he paid to late footballer Terry Yorath.

A Smiling Exit from Claridge's

The 68-year-old broadcaster was photographed leaving the iconic Claridge's hotel in Mayfair alongside GB News host Eamonn Holmes. Keys flashed a broad grin to onlookers as the pair, assisted by friends and hotel staff, made their way to a waiting car. Holmes, who appeared fragile, was seen clutching his wheelchair for support during the exit.

The Tribute That Sparked Outrage

The controversy stems from a post Keys shared on X (formerly Twitter) following the death of Welsh football legend Terry Yorath. In it, he wrote: 'Sad to hear the news of Terry Yorath’s passing. He was a warrior & won fans over wherever he played. He was great for us at Coventry & the reason I got Gabby a job at Sky.'

He concluded: 'I had no idea who she was when we met but I knew her dad. RIP Terry. Your daughter did you proud.' Many social media users interpreted the remarks as a thinly veiled criticism of Yorath's daughter, renowned TV presenter Gabby Logan, suggesting Keys was taking credit for her career success.

A History of Bad Blood

The incident fuels a long-running and publicly fractious relationship between Keys and Logan. In her 2022 memoir, Logan made a series of unsavoury accusations against the former sports host. Keys, who now works for beIN Sports in the Middle East with colleague Andy Gray, had previously vowed to take legal action in response to those claims.

This latest episode, emerging just a day after his contentious tribute, demonstrates that the rift remains deeply entrenched. Keys's cheerful demeanour outside Claridge's suggests he is either unbothered by the backlash or is choosing to publicly disregard it.
