Gale Brophy, the breakout star of Netflix's reality series Members Only Palm Beach, has publicly declared she will no longer engage with reports of a behind-the-scenes feud with co-star Taja Abitbol. The businesswoman issued a lengthy statement on Instagram on 13 January 2026, following claims of a spat that began at a show premiere party.
The Alleged Premiere Party Incident
The controversy reportedly started after Brophy was asked to leave a party hosted by Taja Abitbol to promote their new Netflix show. Gale confirmed she was "removed" from the event. She further alleged that she was handled "roughly" on her way out and firmly shut down speculation that she had been intoxicated. This incident, seemingly spilling over from the on-screen drama the show is known for, prompted significant media attention and speculation about a real-life rift between the cast members.
Brophy's Decisive Statement on Instagram
In her detailed social media post, Gale Brophy chose to address the narrative head-on while taking the high road. "Since the Members Only: Palm Beach premiere on Netflix, there’s been a lot of press — and it wasn’t changed by me," she stated. She pointed out that multiple media outlets and eyewitness accounts had caused the story to evolve from its initial version.
Brophy referenced commentators who described the situation as a "rookie mistake"—an attempt to divert press attention that ultimately backfired. She suggested that jealousy may have been a factor, but refused to engage in name-calling. "I showed up as myself — calm, respectful, and gracious. The cameras followed on their own," she wrote, adding that she would continue moving forward with dignity and let her character speak for itself.
From Supporting Role to Breakout Star
Despite being positioned as a supporting figure, Gale Brophy has become one of the most talked-about personalities from Members Only Palm Beach since its debut in December 2025. On the show, she mentors main cast member Rosalyn Yellin on the intricacies of high society life. She also finds herself in conflicts, notably with property developer Hilary Musser, who questions Brophy's authenticity as a Palm Beach 'Grande Dame'—a moment that led Gale to present a stack of her own magazine covers as proof of her status.
Away from the cameras, Brophy is the CEO and owner of a property company, managing two five-star estates marketed as alternatives to The Hamptons. Her career prior to reality TV included top roles in finance, PR, and the horse racing industry.
Members Only Palm Beach is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
